Private indulgence: Ricky Ibrahim’s Audi A6 C8 on Work Durandal

A subtle approach to modifying is something we can all appreciate it. An OEM+ builds are all the rage these days after all in Indonesia. There are those out there, however, who enjoy giving a firm two-fingered salute to all that softly-softly modifying non-sense while one of these people is Ricky Ibrahim, as he proves with his Audi A6 C8 2013. Having had several interesting motorcycles like Harley Davidson, like the magnificent Road Glide Ultra, etc, it’s pretty easy to tell that Ricky was a truly an auto enthusiasts who loved sophisticated dreams and things.

This moment actually captured when our brother, Alwafi Auzan traveled back to Padang to spent Holy Ramadhan several weeks ago. Basically, we already noticed an appearance of this hot Audi A6 on our Instagram feed. Her luxuriousness, stance, and equipped with our most personal favorite wheels from Work Wheels – Durandal, successfully catches our intention here in Ladyonwheels. Knew that the owner lived in Padang, West Sumatra, we contact Alwafi to spare his time to look after this car.

As you may expected on this today article, it didn’t take long for Ricky as an enthusiast to begin sourcing parts for the A6. With helps from Andra from Platinum Auto Workshop, who easily became an architect of this build.

Let’s be honest, I don’t think any of us can say that what he did is far from such a “good” word. Dare we say it, this Audi A6 is a definite grower. The aggressive S-Line bodykit do a lot for the “Six”. It’s quite a fantastic-looking piece of kit.

Another step of this build was the wheels; a sexy Work Durandal with 19×10.5-11.5 successfully gives a perfect line to this Audi. A perfect combination with 4 channel air struts, and double compressor from Universal Air to laying down it’s frame to the ground. With help also with custom front and rear camber kit to minimizing the chance of rubbing tires while rolling.

Subtle isn’t really a word that could be applied to this Audi A6 – yet with a multitude of touches that show great attention to detail, as well as the in-your-face stance and crazy soundtrack, it just works so well. It’s a real good piece of work from Platinum Auto Workshop together with Ricky as the owner. It’s truly a rule-breaker.


The rolling diaries car: Bey’s Mercedes Benz W114 on Rial Mesh Type A

A scarce innovation, every business or even culture depends on it. From huge industries, companies, magazines, websites, pretty much everything thrives on a great innovation. We’re constantly wanting the newest and latest innovation, or something unusual that will comes out coincided with several boring stuffs. Simply said, innovation is generally a good thing as it means moving forward. The Indonesian car scene certainly thrives on progression, innovation and publications. We are striving to bring the features on what’s new or on something interesting. When it comes to the classic culture, there is lots of innovation going on. As classic US style becomes significantly popular, Mr. Bey with his infallible Mercedes Benz W114 is working hard to innovate its own take on the art of classic-sedan customization and standing on top.

Basically this feature occurred when our brothers Alwafi Auzan, Daniel Bramantyo, and Arief from @properinch invited to the annual Cargasm meet up in Bandung-Indonesia. For those haven’t seen Cargasm coverage, you can click here to begin. We have seen several classic cars in that great meetup, ranging from an old school Mini Cooper, Datsun, and also this beauty Benz that seized our attention. After we finished all duties to captured a car’s heaven in Cargasm meetup, we decided to calling Bey and asked him to be featured as well.

Basically the classic Mercedes Benz W114 is an interesting platform to work with. Its style lends itself to a diverse selection of potential directions. Mercedes Benz attributed much of the classy design inspiration for the W114 to the 70’s finest people who demanding a luxury on their lifestyle. The new generation, mid-range Fintail replace- ment surfaced in 1968, but was more than a re-shell. Mercedes don’t do thing by halves, so in came an all-new chassis type with styling like the ‘65 250/280 plus new semi trailing rear suspension and revised engines and more, including coupe versions. These cars may have been extremely expensive when new at 1970’s, but as a cultured classic are now as cheap as chips. Cheap isn’t a reason for Bey to not driving a Mercedes Benz, he consistently drive several line of Mercedes Benz cars since he was young. Owning a classic W114 this day makes Bey stands among other friends and competitors.

Bey from ASALVO autoclub became quite familiar with the concept of hard work during the build process of his 1975 Mercedes Benz W114. With a helps from FA Autoworks-Bandung, this garage said that Bey’s W114 was in good shape, but still requiring considerable attention before it could be deemed roadworthy. Due to the fancy plans for the vehicle, Bey asked Franky, the owner of FA  Autoworks  to repaint her lady with Orange color from Sikkens. Needless to say, actually his plan did not fit the definition of what one would call a ‘factory restoration’ in term of paint, but definitely this classy Benz easily recognized as timeless roadstar with this looks.

Despite the clean, factory appearance of the Benz, the exterior of this classic W114 has been modified extensively as well. The front and rear lightsis converted to one from a American W114 model for an updated look. An almost brand new all body lists, seals, and chrome bumpers is also present, adding strength to the overall looks of her. With those exterior combination, the car looks really great, far from the truth that this platform is suitable to be collected by the old fashioned people.

In the interior side, Bey contrived to let them in original condition. Seemed Bey wants to shown up his fancy side only on the exterior, nothing in interior then. When it comes to FA Autoworks, the interior side is far from perfect condition, with torn leather, dirty untidy panels, and the interior in  a bit disarray, it was time for a complete restoration inside the cabin. The dash was removed and wrapped with black leather as the instrument panel cable was also repaired. Details ranging from the steering wheel to the switches were polished,painted, and re-wrapped to achieve a comfort and classic looks. Like magic, an old ratty interior soon became one that emanated with craftsmanship and Bey was able to focus on the fitment and wheels option for his lady.

Determining the best wheel offset to produce a certain look is not important for this kind of car, however, sometimes Bey put more efforts to find the best looks of an old school wheels rather than addressing on choosing the big negative offset. In order to attain his desired wheel, a Rial Mesh Type A wheels with 16×8″ size all around chosen to filled all guards. Unlike another popular modern chassis, aftermarket suspension solutions are not plentiful for the W114. A combination of custom suspension are employed to provide the stance.

Lastly said, Bey would like to express thanks to FA Autoworks, Cargasm friends, and ASALVO autoclub for all their workmanship and support throughout the years. In essence, the result is much better than his expectation. Bey built this W114 with the intentions to change the negative stigma about an old fashioned people that sometimes follows the W114 and to change everyone’s opinion of this car. We feel Bey succeeded, and we love that people are taking notice to his car and it’s getting the attention it deserves.

A classy night out: Euro Enthusiasts ID exclusive run

The Euro Enthusiasts ID (an abbreviation of Indonesia) is one of the strongest and most diverse European car scene in Indonesia today. After seeing their Instagram and looking at photos from several cars, it was clear that there were no reasons for not joining their night run this last month. It would be more than well worth to attending. Being greeted by quality modified european cars that mostly dominated by mercedes benz once arrived already met my expectations of this meet up. One of our brother Alwafi and Daniel assigned to join their invitation. Walking around the cars and looking at the cars up close, it just kept getting better and better. So many quality cars joined this run, ranging from rare coupe W210 Benz, until saw in person the cleanest Toyota Supra that belongs to one of our friend here; everything was somewhat satisfied. Although several stopping place weren’t too good to be captured, but it was a great show and meetup from Euro Enthusiast ID with great vibrant people and plenty of good vibes car. We will definitely try and attend again next of their run, but for now, enjoy the photos. Special thanks to Euro Enthusiasts ID that invited us to ride along together their crew. What a good interesting moment guys.

Positive indecision: Dimas Kebot’s W210

Indecision is a biggest problem for many car enthusiast. Especially when you already in love with one legendary platform such as BMW, and when you try to spin around to another platform, those indecision feeling will dominate your mind. That was happened to one of our friend namely by Dimas Kebot. He recently sold his beauty BMW E36 to try his luck on another platform. He said to me that he want to challenged his self to have better fitment scene on this W210 than the previous E36. Bigger offset wheels? of course he could do that on this W210 than his E36. With all of the part options available to automotive enthusiasts, it can get pretty hard deciding what we really want. Enthusiasts are constantly buying, selling, and trading parts with the hope that we can own something a bit more rare or valuable than what was already planned or purchased. The chances are as soon as you find your next addition, something else will catch your eye and send you right back where you started. With that said, I’d like to introduce Dimas Kebot out of Search Auto club and his stunning fitment on Mercedes Benz W210.

This photoshoot actually done after I finished with Hasya’s W211. Anyway, I would not regret that this W210 was so stunning at my first met three weeks ago. A beauty of big bodied sedan combined with nice width wheels will give you a big impression for someone who loves fitment. Dimas was lucky that found this 1996 W210 still in pristine condition.

Soon after buying the W210, Dimas Kebot jumped right into the build and even bought another optional OEM parts of body kit and rims. The W210 is a beautiful car to begin with, but when you add or completing another parts from another Benz tuner house, you will end up with a car on an entirely different level. With that said, Dimas dressed his W210 in a beautiful add on Brabus kit with OEM side blinker and perfectly match S-Class front grill. 

I know that some might not agree but I’ve always believed that the wheels make or break the car. No OEM+ build is complete with out a clean set of width wheels. With the clean silver body, Dimas was going to need a pretty incredible set of wheels. I’d say he made the right choice with the beautiful Japanese brand, Work Durandal in 19×9.5 and 11 inch in a shinning silver finish. The wheels are a bit aggressive and sharp but they do a great job of breaking the smooth look from rest of the car. I can’t keep my eyes off of them personally though. Awesome fitment as always.

As you can see Dimas always travelling with two beautiful ladies in his life. From now on, he will be accompanied with beautiful W210 and his lovely girlfriend. Seemed that his girl felt comfortable enough to ride along with this kind of fitment. Surprised!!!

In interior side, Dimas installed a genuine climate control and voice command for his lovely W210. The rest of interior has left in original and pristine condition.

I guess there could be a couple of morals to this story. First, try to looking for numerous knowledge before you decided to try another platform. Don’t act too soon before you are really understand all the obstacles that you will face in the future. Secondly, don’t waste a time trying to cut corners. If you have an idea as to what you want, do what it takes to get exactly that and don’t settle. Passion for fame: Hasya’s Mercedes Benz W211

Everywhere when you drive today, there is a quite big possibility that you will see this kind of Mercedes. Without being rude or disfigure it’s class since it has been used by one of the taxi’s company to become their premium lineup transportation. One of the best selling sedans in the world, yet there is not even one that would ever make you consider doing any sort of tacky and heavily mods to it. It seems that people behind this W211 will consider to plays in a good role in modifications, without being extremely modified. Well guess what, on last three weekends ago, I met Hasya from Search Auto together with Dimas Kebot and his beautiful W210 will got some photoshoot for our articles. I decide to shoot this beauty W211 first than Dimas W210 later on. What I’ve found here, i just tried to justify my self that this kind of platform does not require long lists of aftermarket parts to be shine. Just play with several combinations of wheels, then you will be great. At least for us though. Now perhaps I will crawl up in your brain and erase all of those negative thoughts about disfiguring this kind of Benz as a mass transportation that you’ve ever had about Mercedes Benz W211. I’ve seen so many great form of W211 in since 2006 in my life. From adding some high expensive wheels, until the most popular and always made people gasped is W211 that running on airs. Actually W211 is one of my favorite platform in mercedes benz as daily stance platform. We will show you what being open minded and willing to step out of your comfort zone can achieve you. With that said, please step into Hasya’s W211 who challenged himself to create something out of the ordinary and be brave to slammed his W211 on static form all the way down. 

There are way too many W211 E-Class on the road now to the point that perhaps it is getting a bit boring, but there are solid reasons for this as the car truly feels and behaves like a luxury car should, apart from this particular model getting a bit noisy at high speed. Actually some of my friends told to me that this car sometimes create noise at above 140 km/h. I don’t know why, perhaps the problem came from the interior parts itself. But anyway, you will find more noise sound come from behind your doors even the speed below 100 km/h. Yes because it a massive bumpy road, this beauty’s fenders kissed the stretching tires and made some noise. Well of course, that clearly wasn’t a factory fault. 

So what makes Hasya’s W211 so special to be featured here? Is it because of friends? His exclusiveness? His super slammed car? The answer is big no for us. When it comes to aggressiveness, presence, and in-your-face attitude, it makes us in love with you and your ladies. It’s the overall package of how everything came together on this car that make it what it is, and not just one part that puts it over the top for me. The black paint, OEM+ body work, static, great choice of wheels, and his attitude work so well together, and everything plays off one another, and makes this W211 one of the cleanest around Jakarta-Indonesia.

Let’s start off with my personal favorite thing about this car. The W211 front end. For me its definitely popped up its classy character and of course because this car is facelift version, it does have different headlights from the older version, the W211 for me is a reserved beauty in itself. On the exterior, Hasya don’t added any aftermarket or optional parts onto his W211. Fitment addiction typically.

Fitment wise, the Work Gnosis GS2 wheels look right at home on this W211. It’s just such a classic modern wheel and quite versatile as Japanese brand sitting on euro platform. Hasya went with the standard silver polished face color, matched with polished lips and hardware. The monochromic wheel coloring works with the overall simple theme modification of this car. For sizing, the front wheels measure in at 19 x 9.5″ et 20, while the rears are 19 x 11 et 21. The specs are pretty much great here allowing the car to sit quite nicely. But in my personal opinion, it will be great if you lifted the rear suspension higher than this. To get better fitment of course.

Hasya assures us that he is done with this W211, and will change his mind to continue building another benz, W210 that will be finished in a couple months. Till next time Hasya.
