Ridiculously good looking: Syaiful’s bagged Audi TT on Rotiform SNA
Iman Machmud

It seems that for many, the cars that influenced us most as kids were the ones that received a special place in our hearts. It could have been a dream exotic or simply a family member’s car that meant a great deal to us and in some way left a large impact in our lives. But for our new friend which known simultaneously in our random Instagram page for his serial car builds, Syaiful always had a dream to accomplished his fitment game in a black 2007 Audi TT. He has wanted one ever since he sold couple built cars and one of them was coming from Audi platform as well.

Syaiful purchased the car with the plan to leave it completely stock body, something that many car enthusiasts can relate to. We all know how that typically goes, you just want to add this and that and you’ll be happy with it… and finally it snowballs from there. Syaiful said he had a love for a super black and wide car, at the time so he decided to call FA Autoworks in Bandung-West Java to do the “rests”. He continued modding the car, sourcing for the best brand wheels, suspensions, and since, to how you see it now in our latest feature.

The exterior is enhanced with a FA Autoworks custom carbon splitter and diffuser, Audi TT RS grills and to refresh the overall look, Syaiful asked them to redcoat all body after went through a hips surgery in all her arches. Syaiful bagged the car on Universal Air Suspension with Airlift Performance 3P which is executed beautifully by ART Custom shop. He also went with a set of 19×10″ and 19×11.5″ Rotiform SNA and also adding the Alcon Big Brake Kit to complete. The rear sports a complete Armytrix Valvetronic premium exhaust kit. Syaiful also said that there is no plan for this car in the future, we agreed on his plan that there is no future plan if you can accomplished a good art works like he successfully presented to this Audi. That is why, we believed so.

A beautiful legacy: Timothy’s Mercedes Benz W123 200E on Riddler wheels
Iman Machmud

We are always interested to hear how someone got into a cars is no exception. Especially that if we hearing how people first got interested in classic’s. It’s a pretty good chance that there is a nice story involved into their builds. For some it may be because of their first ride in one, perhaps the exterior of a certain model, the sexy growl from the tail pipes or the inheritance cars that owned by someone special within their families. For Timothy though, the story has started when he visits his family in Cirebon-Indonesia back then.

Timothy wasn’t necessarily an enthusiast from the get-go, but that eventually changed. The 1983 200E Mercedes Benz W123 you guys see in this article was originally his lovely grandfather’s car. It was their family’s first benz and Timothy admits that while he didn’t really care for it at first, but once his grandfather passed away, it quickly grew on him to taking care of this car.

His grandma, approximately 1.5 years after his husband passed, she asked Timothy if he able to taking care of this car. Without doubt, he agreed to bring this lady with him and the restoration process began. At that time, the condition of this car was alarming. Rusts everywhere and far from a “pristine” word. Timothy brought this car to Akasia garage and ordered them to bring back this car to its glory. To accomodate the lowrider look that Timothy always dreaming of, he ordered a custom air suspension from Akasia garage to achieve the looks that you can adore it in this article.

Just as he’s tinkered with the height toward the air supension system, he’s gone through numerous sets of wheels too. The current set is Riddler in 17 x 7″ et 0(F); 17 x 9.5″ et -5 (R). The chrome centers and high polished lips strengthen the overall looks on this beauty lady.

While Timothy is not sure what’s next for the future, we are sure that his car has been added to that list of well-done W123’s on your mind.

The balancing act: Bagged Akram Tabrani’s Volkswagen Scirocco on Rotiform TMB
Iman Machmud

A few years ago we saw a Volkswagen Scirocco entering our Indonesian market gloriously. Then we were fairly certain that at that point, considering their body shape, performance, and class, this lady will be hit the sales for short period of time. Akram Tabrani, an old friend that now living in Adelaide can’t keep his deep desires to own this car. It is almost 2 years of ownership, there are lots of personalisation has been taken to keep his desires on. Clean might be a word we use far too often on this site but it’s the perfect word to describe Akram’s Scirocco because it looks simply amazing without the need for a wild body kit, loud paint, or even an excessive camber that’s practically horizontal.

Once Akram was introduced to altered ride heights with the air, known power up kits, good wheel fitment, then he knew exactly how he wanted to build this lady. Building off the words of clean and properly lowered, he succeed perfectly at putting together a car that draws people’s attention whenever he cruises the streets with this beauty blue. To enhance the great body lines of this TSI scirocco, Akram added a carbon diffuser and rear spoiler from Osir.

Just like other enthusiasts, Akram has focused almost all of his modification efforts into ride height and wheel fitment. The impressively 18×9.5/10.5 Rotiform TMB wheels fill the fender wells while the Airlift performance “Slam Series” were occupied to build a good safe stance and also do their best to keep undercarriage from hitting the ground and tire from hitting fender. As a one of the regular racing driver, the braking system has received good upgrade. The Endless MX72 brake pad along with the Goodridge brake line were trusted to balance the upgraded engine performance of this lady.

Then when you want to go somewhere, it can be a bit disappointing. The 1390cc 4-cyclinder petrol lump under the bonnet is quiet, civilised, frugal (VW claim 5.3litre/100km outside town) and works well through the semi-auto 7-speed box. But it doesn’t quite go like it looks. That is why an upgraded engine is a must for this Scirocco. Akram did Mcchip-Dkr stage 2 reflash on the ECU, it successfully unleashed the engine potential to the next level along with Militek downpipe, APR Carbonio air intake, upgraded exhaust, throttle controller, Forge twin-cooler, DV and the canister cover.

The complete package is delightfully understated, blending everything that made this Scirocco special with everything even the most fanatical only could dream up. With the perfect charm and sleeper looks attitude, Akram Tabranim has built one truly fun VAG to drive, track, and show.

The wild air: Sultan Agung’s Accord CR2 bagged on Work Durandal
Iman Machmud

It all started when we went to Cargasm December Rain Part 2 event which held in Bandung, West Java. Lots and lots of good cars with their own taste and appearance filled the spacious provided space by the organizer. During the event, we saw a lot of good and proper car laying their frame with the infamous air suspension system that boomed lately in our scene. We picked Sultan Agung’s Accord CR2 to represent one good example from the event.

Sultan basically loves cars and it doesn’t matter what makes, he is definitely all over it. When we first looking at this car, what a breath of fresh air this amazing looking CR2 is. Shortly said, after Sultan decided to put his love to this lady, he gave this car to FA Autoworks as one of the most reputable auto body shop in Bandung to date. His decision to stay in original paint color for us is a big yes. “I think the color suits the body perfectly.” Sultan said. It really does look good in our opinion. At FA Autoworks, Sultan decided to add a custom Modulo bodykit to gives a sharper and aggressive looks which includes add on lips, sideskirts, ducktail, rear bumper, and custom roof spoiler.

If we share a bit about this Honda Accord, basically Honda has managed to maintain viability after five decades of success and has continued the trend with the launch of the 2013 model of the Honda Accord CR2. This new Accord has been dubbed innovative, class and luxury driven. Adhering to Honda’s typical five-year generational life cycle, the Accord was fully redesigned for this CR2/CR3 model that launched since 2013. We had expected that this incredibly popular car got larger, sharper and more powerful. We believe this time Honda went a bit more aggressive with the styling. This new Accord was more daring, with its sleek and sharp look giving it the presence of a more upscale prestigious sedan.

One thing we all know is an aftermarket wheels and suspension will gives your car new life, and for Sultan, he is interested on installing the air suspension to give this beauty the best possible looks. A set of Airmaxx sits perfectly fine with this Accord to accompany a gorgeous set of Work Durandal DD 5.2 with 19×9.5 +25 front, and 19×11 +21 at rear. To accomplish his mission on this lady, the face of Work Durandal DD has been repainted to gold polish color. The presence of gold on four wheels completely changed our perception that silver polish is the only color to go for a black car. Sultan did a really good job on this car and now what do you think?

It gets people attention, recognition, and likes: Andy’s bagged volvo 960 S90 with Schmidt TH-Line and OZ MAE
Iman Machmud

Considering how many great cars are being sent on a weekly basis, we are totally amazed at how much hate air-ride still gets and especially the fact that haters still bang on about bags not handling. We just wondering how many of those staunchly standing by that viewpoint have ever actually driven a bagged car? Ultimately, we are here to like all the different things, but we, I mean personally said that we loved euros, so why can’t we all just get along? We haven’t got time for hate or haters, apart from hating on the haters, but that’s something we can all agree on.

At this feature, seemingly single-handedly contributing to the downfall of Indonesian car scene is Andy, a man who has dared and consistently to loved a Volvo and dared to put air-ride on a Swedish car; time to get the pitchforks out. But hold on, don’t light those torches just yet because this is one stunning Volvo 960 S90. “I’ve always been into volvo no matter what,” Andy tells us. That love growth when he found something interesting on a Volvo; a driven pleasure, unbeatable safety, and a boxy classic look. It was completely stock and well care when he bought it and he didn’t know that he was planning to modify it until this far. But that changed very quickly when he found several astonishing and timeless wheels like OZ Mae and Schmidt. Andy also said, “When it comes to modifying I like to do with my own pleasure and taste.”

Andy really falling in love with a volvo. According to his experience on this car, the quality ride is really smooth. Long distance cruising is an absolute pleasure. Alwafi Auzan did this photoshoot at that time, he mentioned that the seats are also the most comfortable he ever sat in. It is very spacious. Enough room for 5 and all their luggage. While Alwafi sent this set of photos, and I hopes that wishing Volvo still built these cars. Truly the best Volvo of all time in our opinion

The first wheels that we would like to feature it out here is Schmidt TH-line. The wheels are genuinely Germany made 18 inch three piece wheels – these are actually a “one-wheels-for-all” cars. With 8.5 inch width at front, and 10 inch rear with final offset 32, this fitment is much easier to make it works on the Volvo S90. Andy found this wheels on his friend at a bargain price; he told that how excited when he saw them because he knew he could make them fit and it will be very exclusive on this car. It was truly understandable why Andy loves this wheels. The Schmidt TH-line looks absolutely awesome on this 1995 Volvo 960. Indeed, they are gorgeous wheels whichever may you look at them – classic, iconic, and the size and fitment here is absolutely on point. The boxy clean Volvo S90 shape perfectly and that orange face with polished lips are killer.

Perhaps some of the readers here keep asking what suspension setup that he’s using. Is it static or bagged? So, now we come to the, thorny for some, issue of suspension. Andy had coilovers setup previously on the car. That was good he said, but running at the height he liked but he couldn’t get into several bumpy roads near his house though. It was pretty low but it didn’t tuck like today’s setup. The coilover setup if you really wanting a very low height will be not too practical here in Indonesia. Actually Andy could be satisfied with previous suspension setup, but “I’m getting old and 600lb springs on coilover setup were just too hard for my kids.” So finally he ended with getting an air-ride. Andy is running an Universal Air Custom suspension setup with an exceedingly tidy boot install. The whole things has been tucked away with a single compressor and medium size tank, while the controller lives happily below the steering wheel. The question come up now for Andy, is he happy with the switch from coilover to bags? Just a bit. “I’m very pleased with the setup, somehow it’s better than coils, the ride is more comfortable as Volvo should have. It also much more useable, the ride is more comfortable, I can take my family without rubbing, overall I’m really pleased.”

The second wheels that Andy had is an OZ MAE. You have probably already spotted the wheels though. While OZ MAE design has been a runaway success for the brand, it’s not all that often that you could find this set on a Volvo. They look so spot-on though, don’t they? The mixture of flat 6 small hole surfaces, angles and curves ties the look in precisely also with the line of Volvo 960 besides the gorgeous Schmidt TH-line. It successfully gives the purposefully low Volvo a cheeky hint of aggression with 9.5 inch at front and 11 inch rear, and +30 for final round offset.

Having expended such energies in effectively creating a new look of Volvo 960 S90, the finished product is no garage-queen piece. Andy consistently used this car as his daily commuter. Because of the height flexibilty, andy can drive it everywhere safely. And that’s just the way it should be – a considered and a thorough build taste, quality parts, OEM+ style, eager safety, just enough performance to entertain when its needed, and the most important one is built to be used. Wayne of the bunch – it doesn’t need to scream it’s credentials out loud. If you know, you know.
