When the solution is simple: Abdee Faishal’s BMW E90 on SSR SP3

To be honest, sometimes we strive on bringing some of the freshest OEM+ style rides around Jakarta (Indonesia) especially to your computers on daily basis, so when an opportunity arises to shoot a nice and clean BMW E90 such as this one, well of course we glad to admit it. This clean stunning E90 belongs to Mr. Abdee Faishal. Perhaps you guys remember about a purple Honda Jazz GD3 on CCW Classic that belongs to the same owner of this clean E90. Probably several days ago, we were lucky to have his time. Anyway, let us introduce you to Abdee Faishal. Some people called him by Bang Japran, Bang Daon, and maybe more. It wasn’t without reasons though. Funny, hilarious, humorous, etc etc always shown even when in our first met. Becoming famous and known as a creative person toward his purple Honda GD3 and high publication from almost automotive media in Indonesia didn’t meet his satisfaction. Personally, we already knew when he said that he bought a BMW E90, but we thought it was still in original condition. He said to us that he has been in love with BMW scene since 2012, and finally bought the car back in 2013. The plan was to modified the classy-clean E90 like several of his friends did. After he found a really clean shell without any dents and issues, he started the work. Abdee said, “I’m in love with this car, I am so glad to see her right now with this style.” This car was a lot of fun to drive and pulled very hard even only hold 1998 liters engine.

SSR SP3 wheels compliment the car just right. Fronts are 9.5″ wide wrapped in Toyo t1s 235/40/19) tire while the rears are 11″ wrapped in 265/35/19 set of rubber. Suspension wise, there is quite a few things going on but the coilover setup by Weitec that successfully help give this Titansilber metallic E90 the awesome fitment you see in front of you.

A set of Remus Carbon bolt on muffler gives another impression on this mid size sedan. Along with OEM body of this car, this muffler gives Abdee another joy when he pulled the engine.

Abdee kept in stock the original interior of this E90. No fancy stuffs yet, but he had plans to upgrade the interior with BMW Performance stuffs in the future.

There isn’t really much left to say about Abdee’s great looking car. OEM+, clean, and aggressive are three words that come to mind as we look at these photos, and we hope that whatever the future holds for this car, this it stays in that way.

 

Stand for the black man’s side: Eka’s Felgenschmiede Sudhessen E90

Being the first to do something in a not-too-popular area is never an easy task especially when it comes to modifying a car and following some stance, JDM, etcs in Indonesia. When a new chassis or model comes out, the aftermarket parts comes too far to be reached, and most of our friends out there are left scratching their heads trying to figure out what to do. A friend from Jambi-Indonesia, Eka Ristyawan faced a similar issue with his BMW E90. The BMW’s popular sedan for us is one of the best 3 series ever in terms of body line, drive-ability and numerous styles to be applied based on owner’s preference, but being so “new” in modification on this quite small city, desperation was never appeared when he trying to find the soul of what is this car wants to be. Yet when it came time for Eka to sort his car, well, he had some work to do, and practically become one of the stunning E90 in town.

There are not many enthusiasts that will have some balls for lowering their luxury toys. I’m sure they have all heard, “they are sporty-luxury-quiet fast for a reason, way to ruin a perfectly good executive car”. Well, I agree that the BMW E90 has potential to be a great sporty plus car, but I have yet to see many people nowadays ‘ruin’ their factory BMW E90 — or perhaps I’m hanging out with the wrong friends though. Eka decided to build and simplified her looks that could be driven hard daily and can still roll into a stance and fitment world.

Eka purchased his BMW E90 in this year and the car has not seen for any changes at all in the first stage. He always loved the E90’s styling and provides tremendous style in one perfect platforms, so he decided it would be a great car to start with. Eka’s build started with a contacting some friends in other province such as Jakarta. He instantly fell in love with the aggressive wide wheels, rare, and have great car fitment. Shortly thereafter, he got the stance itch. He lowered the car on some spring set and eventually fitted some rare wheels. Eka loved ta simple setup, but quickly grew bored of another side of his car. So, he shopped around for another sweet things that increased her appearance in front.

One aspect of this BMW E90 that truly makes it stand out are the wheels indeed. As we mentioned earlier, he called upon one of the friend that has wheels shop in Jakarta, Mr. Agung Wijaya from Euro Garage, Eka finally got poisoned and picked up a set of Felgenschmiede Sudhessen (FS6) hailing in at a healthy 18×11 inch at front and 12 inch wide rear, with custom offsets all around to maintain an aggressive stance on her lady. Teaming up with Wijay from Eurogarage, Eka then went to lowered this car in a polite-way by using Eibach Pro spring. The high polished finish of this magnificent wheels contrast enough with this black E90.

Eka is not a huge fan of fancy body kits. He decided to keep the car’s exterior clean and simple. He is, however, a fan of the BMW Performance front spoiler that now sits up on the front fascia nicely along with the BMW Performance ducktail at rear. That’s pretty much it: clean and simple. Really loved this setup.

Personally said, the 3 series-chassis BMW E90 is already a perfect car from a styling standpoint. It is both sharp and curvaceous simultaneously and its bold styling pulls as many admirers as those that dislike it. Until recently, its price point has kept it out of the radar for many younger enthusiasts and also helped with many opting for more performance style package anyways. I remember driving one for the first time at 2008 and found it an exciting car with plenty of luxuriousness.

We can’t say that we ever expected to see 18×12 wheels mounted on a BMW E90 before without any serious fender works. As awesome as this sexy lady looks, we’re willing to bet that it must be one of the most hated rides on all the E90 out there.

What’s next for the boundary-pushing BMW E90? We have another surprise for E90-minded in our next article in the future. More boundary-pushing of course. Eka also plans to go wider with a color change and more aggressive aero kit. He tells us he will continue to break barriers with his build and is humbled by those fellow enthusiasts who have supported him with his interesting project. With a great chassis platform and total disregard for the status quo of being standard-luxurious-car-today, I’m sure Eka will have no problems accomplishing his goals and dropping plenty of passions along his way through this beauty combination between E90 and 12 inch of Felgenschmiede Sudhessen.
